Have you been considering the possibility of a career change lately? As strange as it sounds with the current economic situation, we are seeing more and more people entertaining the idea of switching careers.
People give us many and varied reasons for this. Of course there are many who like the idea of working from home in some capacity. Others think that a home business of their own is what they would like.
However, there are many professionals today that tell us plain and simply, that they are over worked and overwhelmed in their current professional careers. As the layoffs and corporate cutbacks have continued, workers who are still employed are seeing massively increased workloads, longer hours, less time with family, and all that goes along with that. Many businesses have now seen that they can produce the same or more with less. Many folks are working 60-80 hour weeks just out of fear of losing their job. Yes, this is a sad commentary on the corporate word, but the days of when the company actually cared about it's employees are gone forever. Employees come in a distant third to shareholders and CEO's. Oh, sorry, make that employees come in fourth, after the shareholders, CEO's and politicians. As a result, workers are running scared and ragged. But we're also starting to have folks tell us that it may just not be worth it all. The stress, the commuting, the endless pressure. And, of course, businesses see the situation as being to their advantage. After all, who in their right mind would consider leaving their job in this climate to start a home based business, a or any business for that matter. Well, I believe that many businesses are in for a big surprise. It's expected that 76,000,000 people will start a home business in the next ten years. That's a lot of folks.
Now, before making the jump, which can be quite intimidating, I would recommend doing some type of career assessment homework. We have found that professionals already possess the necessary skill sets to succeed at direct sales. Which is why we work with many real estate agents, mortgage brokers, managers of all types, executives and many others. This translates into less capital and time investment in training and higher, executive type incomes for professionals, without all the stress, traveling, time away from family, etc. The skill sets needed have already been developed. Which is not to say that someone from a non professional background cannot be a success in direct sales, because they most certainly can. They just tend to have a longer learning curve.
The bad news is that we don't foresee workloads or hours decreasing anytime soon.
On the bright side, however, you may be a direct sales superstar waiting to be discovered, to enjoy the income and time freedom that comes along with it.
