Firefighter Paramedic

In most emergency situations, fire emergency medical service is always ready to assist victims. Becoming a firefighter paramedic not only limits to fire alarms and CPR support instead it can administer wide range of medication such as administering oxygen, administering medications orally and intravenously, interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs) and many others.

Firefighter paramedic study has two separate educational training and coursework. Most firefighter paramedic study first paramedic before becoming a firefighter. Why? because of the reason that paramedic is much longer to take which usually last for about one to two years of study while firefighter training it only takes a few months of study. Aspirant candidates tend to choose to pursue paramedic because of the fact that work opportunities are considerably in demand in all emergency medical services. Whereas in firefighter certification, the work employment is only limited to fire department.

If you want to work in fire department emergency service, acquiring a paramedic education is an advantage of work employment. Nowadays, applying for a job in fire emergency medical unit has a tough competition. Most fire department heads prefer to choose Fire Science degree holder and certified paramedic. To have a good entry level position in fire emergency response team, follow the alternate educational route of making through the hiring process -- attend paramedic courses and secure paramedic certification. In all states in America, many certified paramedic joins firefighter training for additional pay. And also it is an evident situations that all fire department in America either in metropolitan or city areas often times hire applicant who have paramedic certification and have a fire science degree.

You must atleast 18 years old and above

At least a high school graduate or GED diploma

Physically able

No criminal record

Have a good eye vision

job, jobs, career
